Anthology (1959), a seminal collection of essays by figures such as
Eisenstein
and Kracauer which helped form the new film culture of the 1960s in the US.
Talbot was
also founder of New Yorker Films, a distribution company active in importing
the French New Wave in the 60s, the New German Cinema in the 70s, much Third
World cinema (Sembene, Diegues, Gutierrez Alea) and works by various Japanese
masters (Mizoguchi, Ozu, Oshima).
