American minister of church and country singer (1900-1976)

Kazee was a college educated, fully ordained minister of the church who had an avid interest in a wide range of traditional music. During 1927-29 he recorded 58 titles for Brunswick, 46 of which were released – Kazee singing and playing five string banjo on such songs as Hobo’s Last Ride and Rock Island Line, also cutting sometwo part sketches that included A Mountain Boy Makes His First Record and Election Day, Kentucky.
Author of a book Faith in the Victory, Kazee performed at many folk concerts throughout his life and recorded some material for the Library of Congress.
