Bobby Darin en Sandra Dee

Having lost his father before birth, he was raised by
his mother with the aid of welfare. In the late 50s he emerged as a highly
successful nightclub and recording singing star and won two Grammy Awards in
1960 for his rendition of "Mack the Knife," which sold 2 million
copies. He subsequently played both light and dramatic roles in films and was
nominated for an Oscar for his portrayal of a shell-shocked GI in CAPTAIN
NEWMAN, M.D. (1963). Long plagued by heart trouble, he died at 37 following an
operation. His first wife was actress Sandra Dee.
