Engels industrieel (1775-1850)

Hij bekostigde in 1829 de tweede expeditie van kapitein J. Ross naar het Canadese poolgebied. Uit dankbaarheid noemde Ross een schiereiland naar hem: Boothia Felix, thans schiereiland Boothia.
